A statement was adopted at an international conference on Humanitarian Mine Action and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Baku, APA reports.
In the statement, it was noted the importance of the conference and stressed that the main purpose of the conference was to bring together key actors of the international community, government agencies, and civil society in the field of mine clearance to discuss the importance of humanitarian mine action in eliminating the threat of landmines.
The conference focused on identifying the link between the potential of humanitarian mine action for sustainable peace and socio-economic development and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The final opinions and recommendations of the conference will be conveyed to the participants in order to explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation and further expand joint activities.
