It has been five years since Armenia once again shelled Barda during the Patriotic War, APA reports.
On October 28, 2020, at around 13:00, the Armenian armed forces launched strikes on the city of Barda, which is located far from the frontline, using internationally banned cluster munitions.
As a result of the attack on an area with high civilian activity and commercial facilities, 21 people were killed, nearly 70 were injured, and significant damage was inflicted on civilian infrastructure and vehicles in the city.
During the course of the Patriotic War—from September 27 to November 10, 2020—Barda district was subjected to shelling with various weapons, missiles, and prohibited cluster bombs on October 5, 8, 27, 28, and November 7.
In total, 29 residents of the district were killed and 112 were injured. Among those killed were 2 children, 8 women, and 19 men.
