First relocation caravan reached Badara village of Khojaly, keys were handed over-PHOTO

On September 12, the first relocation to the village of Badara in the Khojaly district took place, Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara, Khojaly district told APA.

14 families consisting of 56 people were resettled in the first stage. The families were handed the keys to fully renovated private houses meeting modern standards.

At the handover ceremony, Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, provided information about the conditions created for the residents. He stated that all necessary infrastructure has been established in Badara to ensure the comfortable living and employment of the residents, and significant steps have been taken to address social and economic issues. It was noted that the village was rapidly restored and supplied with electricity, drinking water, and natural gas. All conditions have been created for residents to live in comfort and achieve sustainable settlement. Employment remains a priority issue as always. Employees of ANAMA also held awareness sessions with the residents regarding safety.

It was emphasized that within the framework of the "Great Return" program, the relocation to the village will continue in stages. For reference, the village of Badara had been under the occupation of the Armenian Armed Forces since 1992.

As a result of the local anti-terror measures carried out on September 19–20, 2023, the village was returned to the control of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
