An attempt to smuggle a large amount of narcotics into the country has been prevented, the State Border Service told APA.
According to the information, measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border and to combat the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are being successfully continued.
A large quantity of narcotics being smuggled from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented in the service area of the “Horadiz” border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service.
As a result of border search and operational measures carried out, 21 kilograms and 300 grams of marijuana were detected and seized.
Operational-investigative measures are ongoing regarding the fact.
