Azerbaijan resolves appropriation of songs performed by Azerbaijani People's artists by Armenian artists

The issue of the song "Intizar" (The Wait) performed by People's Artist Elmira Rahimova, being appropriated by Armenian performer Artash Asatryan, and the song "Yeni il mahnısı" (New Year Song) performed by People's Artist Brilliant Dadashova, being appropriated by Armenian performer Tigran Asatryan, has been resolved, the Intellectual Property Agency told APA.

The music for the song "Intizar" performed by People's Artist Elmira Rahimova was composed by Nushaba Muradova, and the lyrics were written by Sudaba Shafa. The song was first performed in 1979. Based on the application of the music author N. Muradova, the song "Intizar" was registered with the Intellectual Property Agency, and a "Certificate of Registration of the Work" was issued.

According to the Intellectual Property Agency, the music of the song "Intizar" belongs to Nushaba Muradova, the lyrics belong to Sudaba Shafa, the music of the song "Yeni il mahnısı" belongs to Gular Hasanova, and the lyrics belong to Baba Vaziroghlu. Both songs have been registered on the Intellectual Property Agency.

Armenian performers Artash Asatryan and Tigran Asatryan uploaded the songs under different names on YouTube, violating the copyright. As a result of the intervention of the Intellectual Property Agency and the Public Union of "Digital and Audiovisual Broadcasting Industry" (RAYS), these videos have been removed from the platform, and the authors' rights have been restored.
