Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan has expressed regret over traveling to Russia during the 2020 war to ask for the fighting to be stopped, APA reports.
Speaking about the matter, Simonyan said that at the time, he naively believed he could change something.
"Naively, foolishly, I thought I could change something. I was literally falling at the Russians' feet, saying, 'After all, we are your brothers, your allies. Stop this war,'" he stated.
According to Simonyan, Russia took no effective steps to stop the war during that period.
