Azerbaijan is joining the mechanism for the international enforcement of court decisions related to alimony, APA reports.
This is reflected in the draft laws on the approval of the “Protocol on Amendments to the Convention of January 22, 1993 on Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters” and the “Protocol on Amendments to the Convention of October 7, 2002 on Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters,” which were submitted for discussion at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations.
It was noted that the main essence of the amendments to both documents consists of issues related to the recognition and enforcement mechanism of court decisions on alimony for minors within the framework of conventions on legal assistance in civil, family and criminal matters. Thus, these innovations will strengthen legal cooperation between states and, in particular, will enable easier and more effective enforcement of decisions related to the financial support of children in other countries.
