Azerbaijan determines fines for the import, export, production and sale of electronic cigarettes

Fines are being introduced for the import, export, production, wholesale and retail sale, as well as storage for sale of electronic cigarettes and their components, APA reports.

This is reflected in the proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses to be discussed at today’s meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building.

Under the draft, starting April 1, the goods that are the direct subject of the administrative offense — electronic cigarettes and their components — will be confiscated, and fines will be imposed as follows: individuals will be fined from 350 to 500 manats, officials from 1,650 to 2,200 manats, and legal entities from 4,000 to 5,000 manats.

Note that, in accordance with amendments to the Law on Tobacco and Tobacco Products, the import, export, production, storage, wholesale and retail sale, and use of electronic cigarettes and their components will be prohibited starting April 1.
