"There are a total of 276 houses in Khanabad village of Khojaly. Of them, 115 are unfit, while 161 are partially fit. So far, 120 houses have been renovated. Another 41 houses will be ready for use by the end of this year," Afet Telmangizi, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city, and Aghdara and Khojaly districts, said, during a media tour organized to the village, APA reports.
Recall that President Ilham Aliyev, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva familiarized themselves with the works carried out in Khanabad village of Khojaly district on February 25.
Before the occupation, a secondary school, a cultural center, a library and a medical point operated in the village. There are architectural monuments of national importance here — a 13th-century church and the 9th-century “Aslan Castle.”
Khanabad is part of the administrative territorial unit of the Khojaly district bearing the same name. The village was liberated from occupation as a result of the anti-terror operations carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in 2023.
