Large-scale reconstruction and construction work began in Aghdam district after its liberation from occupation, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

Within a short period, life has been revived in the district center and several villages, while consistent projects are being implemented to create modern infrastructure.

Within this framework, a large-scale construction project is also being carried out in the village of Bash Garvand in Aghdam district. The project covers a total area of more than 476 hectares and envisages the construction of 1,245 private houses. The foundation of the project was laid on December 24, 2023.

Head of the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts, Tarana Guliyeva, stated that within the first phase, 851 private houses are being built on an area of 202 hectares, with houses constructed in various layouts ranging from two to five rooms.

According to her, along with residential houses, social infrastructure is also being established in the village. An administrative building, a medical center, a two-story school for 840 students, as well as two kindergartens with capacities of 120 and 100 children, will be commissioned.

T. Guliyeva noted that the total length of internal roads within the road infrastructure project will exceed 56 kilometers, of which 43 kilometers will be constructed during the first phase. At the same time, engineering and communication lines, sidewalks, and extensive green zones are planned in the village.

It was added that demolition and vertical planning works in the area have already been fully completed, and the first resettlement to the village is expected to take place this year.

Construction work is also underway in Eyvazkhanbeyli village of Aghdam. Eyvazkhanbeyli is among the settlements being rebuilt within the framework of the Great Return Program.

Eyvazkhanbeyli is the fifth village in Aghdam district where restoration and reconstruction work is being carried out. Construction work there is progressing rapidly, and residents are waiting for the day they can return to their native lands.

Tarana Guliyeva stated that projects in Eyvazkhanbeyli village are being implemented in stages, and currently 35 percent of the construction and installation work on private houses has been completed.

According to her, the first phase envisages the construction of a total of 427 private houses in the village. The houses are being built in various types and sizes, including one-, two-, three-, four-, and five-room homes.

T. Guliyeva noted that the total length of the village road construction project is 13.9 kilometers, and expert review approval has already been obtained for this area.

It was reported that the construction of social facilities is also among the project’s main directions. Thus, a full secondary school for 720 students is planned in the village. A 360-seat section of the school will be implemented in the first phase, while the other 360-seat section will be carried out in the second phase, and the project is currently being updated for optimization purposes.

According to her, the construction of a kindergarten for 120 children, a family health center, and an administrative building is also planned in the village.

Construction workers from various regions of the country are participating in the reconstruction work carried out in the village, including residents originally from Aghdam. Local residents say they are proud to take part in the restoration and reconstruction of their native district.

It was noted that these projects will serve to transform Eyvazkhanbeyli village into a modern, comfortable, and safe residential settlement with developed infrastructure in the future.
