President Ilham Aliyev’s new Order “On providing one-time financial assistance to persons who participated in the Second World War of 1941–1945, to the widows of soldiers who were killed or later died, and to persons awarded orders and medals for their dedicated labor in the rear” expresses another instance of high attention and care towards citizens belonging to these categories.
This is reflected in the information released by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
It was noted that, according to the Order, in connection with the 81st anniversary of Victory in World War II, one-time financial assistance in the amount of 2,750 manats will be paid to participants of that war.
Widows of fighters who were killed or later died in World War II, persons awarded orders and medals for their dedicated labor in the rear during that period, employees of special units who carried out tasks in the interests of the army and navy within the rear boundaries of combat fronts or operational zones of fighting fleets during the World War II years, persons awarded the relevant medal and badge for the defense of the city of Leningrad, as well as participants of the siege of Leningrad, will be given one-time financial assistance in the amount of 1,500 manats.
It is expected that the Order will cover nearly 2,000 people in total, 13 of whom are World War II participants.
For the provision of one-time financial assistance, 3 million manats have been allocated from the Reserve Fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, provided for in the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.
The one-time financial assistance will be transferred to the bank accounts of World War II participants and other relevant persons by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
