# 31 March 2009 13:08 (UTC +04:00)
Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva–APA. Research Council of the Institute of History of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) held its large meeting on Tuesday. The historians discussed the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijani people in 1918 and presented “The historic facts about the actions of Armenians in Azerbaijan”, the book published in Bishkek by order of Turkic-Speaking Countries Policy Support Fund and the journal titled “ Literature and art Issues” as well.

Director of the Institute of History Yagub Mahmudov said Azerbaijani people should remember the March 31 not only today, but throughout the year. “No Azerbaijani and Muslim could forget this day, because just on this day, Armenians committed unprecedented cruelties against Azerbaijani Turks and massacred the Azerbaijani people. Today Azerbaijani land is full of mass graves. All these graves should be opened and the historic condition, which created these graves, should be investigated”. Mahmudov considered the publication of the book “The historic facts about the actions of Armenians in Azerbaijan” as an important step toward delivering information about the truth of Azerbaijani history to the world. He said the publication was placed on Internet. Professor Sayyad Sayyadov, chief of the international department of the Institute of History, proposed to present these publications in all Turkic countries. He also proposed to establish the ideological organization of the scientists for regular events on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. President of the Turkic-Speaking Countries Policy Support Fund Nusrat Mammadov thanked to Baku-based “Gamar&Ilkin” printing house and municipality of Sabayel District of Baku for their support in publication of the new book and journal.
