German Archeology Institute and ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography to conduct joint researches

Baku. Kamala Guliyevaâ€“APA. An international conference on archeology entitled â€œAzerbaijan, the bridge between the East and West (VII-IV millenniums B.C.)â€ will take place in Baku on April 1-3 on the initiative and under the auspices of Germanyâ€™s embassy in Azerbaijan. The conference will be organized by the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and German Archeology Institute within the German cultural weeks in Azerbaijan, director of the ANAS Archeology and Ethnography Institute Maisa Rahimova told APA. Deputy foreign minister of Germany Gernot Erler will address the opening ceremony. Well-known archeologists from Azerbaijan, Germany, France, USA and Turkey expected to attend the conference. Rahimova said they would discuss researches of archeological monuments of the Neolithic, Eneolithic and Bronze ages. The German archeologists have already started researches in Shamkir region of Azerbaijan, said Rahimova and added that the German Archeology Institute and ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography would sign an agreement on joint archeological researches.
