Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan signed $1.5 million deals for purchasing equipments from abroad last year

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov –APA. The Ministry of Emergency Situations signed a deal in 2008 to purchase two Ka-32A helicopters for humanitarian shipment and rescue operations, Azerbaijani government said in its report for 2008.
$1.5 million deals were reached with Germany, Switzerland, Italia, Turkey and Russia for purchasing the inspection and test equipments and a part of those equipments were already brought to the country.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations purchased 68 Iveco-Camiva vehicles from France and 37 Man-Ziegler firefighting vehicles, as well as 10 Mercedes-Benz-based trucks from Germany, 14 US-made cleaners of avalanche and collapses and 16 German rescue vehicles, 25 motorcycles, two Russian Mi-17-1B helicopters, BE-200 CS amphibian aircraft, four Japan-made Yamaha boats, Turkey-made task force Temsa Diamond bus, four Belarusian auto-fuel-fillers, one auto-tank, two airfield fuel-fillers, four Iveco Otoyol, two Ford Transit 430E, one auto-grader and one asphalting vehicle.
The ministry has also bought a set of mobile diagnostic complex for technical inspection of buildings and installations, special equipments for improving of telecommunication system in the ministry’s administrative building, 4500 firefighter suits and equipments from UAE, special uniforms for the Civil Defense Troops, various technical equipments for the Special Rescue Service and equipments for the Crisis Managing Center.
