200 more secondary schools to get access to Internet in Azerbaijan

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva – APA. 200 more secondary schools will get access to the Internet in Azerbaijan within a week. The Ministry of Education’s Officer for the Informatization of Education Samir Mammadov told APA that those schools were in Baku, Sumgayit, Hajigabul and Goranboy.

Mammadov said 180 out of 380 schools in Baku and 11 out of 33 Sumgayit schools had not got access to the Internet. These schools will be provided with Internet access within a year. The process will continue in the regions. Provision of secondary schools in Ganja with Internet access will be completed by summer.

Provision of schools in Lankaran, Guba and Shaki with Internet access will start as from March. The work will continue in the schools in all the regions.

As from 2010 village schools will access the Internet. The activities are carried out within the scope of the State Program for Informatization of Education in Azerbaijan Republic for 2008-2012.
