Farewell ceremony for director of ANAS Human Rights Institute Rovshan Mustafayev takes place

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. Farewell ceremony for Rovshan Mustafayev, director of Human Rights Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is taking place. Rovshan Mustafayev died in Memorial Hospital of Turkey after a long-lasting disease on February 19, APA reports.
Officials of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, parliamentarians, representatives of government agencies are attending the ceremony. The farewell ceremony will last till 15.00. Rovshan Mustafayev will be buried in Chemberekend cemetery near his fatherâ€™s grave.
Rovshan Faig Mustafayev was born in Baku in 1960. He was the first Doctor of Political Sciences in Azerbaijan. Early in 1990s, Mustafayev established first independent analytical center in Azerbaijan â€“ the Institute of State-Building and Political Relations and founded â€œDirchelish XXI esrâ€ (â€œVozrajdenie XXI vekâ€) magazine. He was the founder of the Azerbaijan Human Rights Institute and expert in the field of political security. He was researching the regional conflicts, election practice, ethno-cultural policy issues and wrote more than 70 scientific articles and books. He represented Azerbaijan in many international conferences.
