The schools having debts have been left without electricity for a week. Ganja Education Department owes AZN 27,000 to the Electricity Distribution Network. Chairman of Ganja Education Department Mahal Aliyeva told APA’s local bureau that the electricity had been used above normal in the secondary schools.
“There is no heating system in schools, that’s why classrooms are heated with electric ovens. We have always paid AZN 16,000. Ganja Regional Energy Supply LLC has recently installed electric meters in some of the schools. The meter recorded AZN 26,000 debt. I can not exactly say when the debt will be paid,” he said.
Director of Ganja Regional Energy Supply LLC Eldar Eldarov told APA that the electricity used in January had not been paid.
“We have started installing electric meters in all schools to regulate the payment of electricity debts. Electric meters have already been installed in 28 schools. Electric meters will be installed in all schools soon,” he said.
Eldarov said energy supply will not be restored, unless the problem is solved.
