State tax for individual job permission for foreigners in Azerbaijan rises from 45 to 1000 AZN

According to the amendments and changes made to the state tax law by the presidential order several days ago, 1000 AZN of state tax should be paid for individual job permission for the foreigners in Azerbaijan. Chief of the Migration Office near the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Rauf Tagiyev said the new amendments entered into the force on February 12, APA reports. So far the employers paid 45 AZN of state tax for employment of foreigners and 25 AZN for prolongation of the contract. According to the new amendments, the state tax for prolongation of the contract with foreigners was also raised to 1000 AZN.

Tagiyev said that increase of state tax will stimulate employment of local citizens.
â€œWorkers become free in Azerbaijan in comparison with foreign countries. Free foreign workers can work in Azerbaijan. On the other hand, the increase of state duty will play an important role in the interest of employers to give new vacancies to Azerbaijanis. It will intensify employment of Azerbaijanis instead of foreigners. Employers will focus to improve professionalism of Azerbaijanis in his job. It will have direct impact on their budgets,â€ he said.
Tagiyev added that employer involving foreigner in a job without individual work permission would be fined AZN 30-35 basing on Code on Administrative Delinquencies.
