Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva–APA. “I cannot say that I am satisfied with the knowledge of secondary school leavers, who apply for the high schools. We cannot be satisfied, if 33 percent of applicants gain 0-100 points in the admission examinations. Generally there are positive changes in the school leavers’ knowledge, but we have to accelerate the positive tendencies”, said Chairwoman of the State Student Admission Commission Maleyka Abbaszadeh, APA reports. She said the secondary school was a main stage of the education and it demanded serious attention.
Abbaszadeh said prestige of the Azerbaijan University of Languages and Baku Slavonic University rose in recent years. The Public Administration Academy leads the rating list of the state high schools in 2008 as it was in previous years. Turkish lyceums are the leaders among the secondary schools, which students successfully applied for the universities. Local lyceums and the Education Ministry’s private schools are behind them.
