Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva –APA. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection completed a part of work done for the improvement of labor migration legislation. Chief of the Migration Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Rauf Tagiyev said last summer serious amendments were made to the legislation about foreigners in Azerbaijan, APA reports. According to the amendments the foreigners can stay in Azerbaijan with three statuses – temporary staying, temporary living and permanent living.

Tagiyev said Azerbaijani citizens working abroad were not being forced to return home during the global financial crisis. “The Azerbaijani citizens are working mostly as an owner in the foreign countries. Therefore they always have an employment in the labor market of that country and don’t need to return home. Flow of the foreigners to Azerbaijan is not related with the global crisis. Large-scale projects carried out in Azerbaijan attract their attention”. Tagiyev said currently 4367 foreigners engaged in legal labor activity in Azerbaijan.
