Ombudsman meets representatives of national minority in Balakan Region

Baku-Haji Zeynalov â€“APA. Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova continued public hearings for the purpose of monitoring propaganda and implementation of National Action Plan on Human Rights Defense, Press Service of Ombudsmanâ€™s Office told APA
MP Dunyamin Khalilov, Head of Balakan Executive Power and representatives of municipalities, courts, interior bodies, Prosecutorâ€™s Office, ConECs , NGOs , mass media and sections attended the event. Suleymanova stressed an importance of holding democratic, free and transparent presidential elections and spoke about tasks of ConECs and gave proper recommendations.
Representatives of Avar, Ingiloy and other national minorities addressing the event noted that Azerbaijani Government paid much attention to rights defense of national minorities, settlements and villages had been repaired and reconstructed, schools, cultural centers, parks had been built, national values have been developed and socio-economic, cultural rights of people had been ensured. Moreover, Ombudsman visited Gabagcol settlement, where Avars live densely, and Azerbaijan-Georgia check point and Balakan Police Department detention place.
