Press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA that the visual engineering and geological researches was carried out by the employees of Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Ministry of Emergency Situations on the basis of appeal of Ministry of Cultural and Tourism with the participation of the National Park’s employees. The experts said that if heavy precipitation, ravine erosion in the Small Stone Mountain region, surface ablation and little landslide process continue it will create complications for cave drawings and ancient caves situated in the lower slope of Small Stone Mountain. As a result of researches in Gobustan National Historical Park, employees of the Ministry made some recommendations to the relevant organizations to prevent these dangerous processes. Small Stone Mountain anticline range was formed as a result of arid-denudation processes in the Neopleistocene age. But the denudation processes haven’t finished and inverted relief forms haven’t formed yet. As a result of this, the relief of the province characterizes as tectonic structure. Besides, structural denudation processes, deflation, psycho-mechanical erosion, temperature changes and atmosphere precipitation had also a great in the formation of micro-relief of the area. Holocene age sedentary-glacial and Neopleistocene and Pilocene age sea deposits formed the geological structure, which was complicated by the Acichay-Alat tectonic zones of the Small Stone anticline range.
