Baku. Hafiz Haydarov-APA. “After getting results of the monitoring we can have any opinion. But I can say no serious problem was revealed during the monitoring”, said Malahat Farajova, director of the Gobustan State National Historical-Artistic Preserve to APA, commenting on news about cracks occurred in preserve territory.

According to the director conducting monitoring in the historical monument territory is important and ordinary procedure. “Geological development temp of the processes from the oldest times up to date should be investigated continuously”, she added.

She noted that the territory of the preserve always has cracks. “There are a lot of cracks in this territory. Bu actually they are not cracks but ravines. Gobustan is territory of ravines and this territory is active tectonic area. Otherwise, how can these mountains be created? These mountains are created as a result of these active tectonic processes. Gobustan is not interesting for tourists only for its historical monuments but also for volcanoes especially for mud volcanoes. There are specific flora and fauna”

Touching also possibility of these cracks to create any danger for the preserve, M. Farajova told that specialists will decide on it. “I can’t say anything as I am not specialist. Geologists can answer to this question”

M. Farajova also noted that there is need for the investigation and popularizing Gobustan preserve, geology of the territory and mud volcanoes.

Today, information on occurrence of long and deep cracks in the rocky mountain of the preserve was spread. According to the given information the cracks were occurred on small stone mountain of the preserve.
