Landslide causes dangerous situation on Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala highway

Ismayilli. Elvin Yagubov â€“ APA. Landslide caused serious fractures on Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala highway creating dangerous situation at the site. Chief of Ismayilli regionâ€™s road exploitation office Mahammad Musayev told APA that the landslide area is expanding on the road. It forced the emergency forces to close Aghsu crossing.

Chairman of Ismayilliâ€™s Emergency Situations Commission Rafael Ahmadov told APA that landslide seriously damaged 145 houses in Ismayilli region. He reminded that the experts of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted joint monitoring in the above-mentioned areas last year and passed a decision on resettlement of population from the area and removal of the damaged houses.

According to him, the residents were provided with new land plots to construct new houses. He also noted that local residents asked the authorities to examine the territory again due to activation of landslide and they will invite experts for the inspection of the site.

The most dangerous area is situated in the northern part of Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala highway passing through the mountains.
