SIFE SILK ROAD conference to start in Baku tomorrow

Baku â€“ APA. Baku will host an international conference of SIFE SILK ROAD leaders on international program Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) on March 12. The conference will be organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan. Press service of the ministry told APA that the teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as the president of SIFE Worldwide international organization Alvin Rohrs and his assistants will attend the international meeting of SIFE SILK ROAD leaders.

The student teams from the regional countries will brief about the implemented projects and elaborate joint SIFE program projects on global priorities. A forum â€œThe meeting of business leaders and youthâ€ will be held in the framework of the conference to discuss opportunities to support business activity of young people and to increase employment opportunities for them. Teams of 20 high educational institutions from the regional countries will sign a memorandum of cooperation on the final day of the event.

SIFE represents the premier international business and higher education network with programs in 39 countries. It brings together 1600 universities and at least 50.000 students.

SIFE was established in 1975 in the United States on behalf of the National Leadership Institute. SIFE World Cup has been held regional competition since 2001 and Azerbaijani team have joined from 2006.

Students in Free Enterprise offers these students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise, in hopes of improving the standard of living for millions in the process.
