USD 4.68 billion spent on solution of social problems of refugees and internally displaced people in Azerbaijan in 1993-2011

Approximately AZN 715 (USD 894) was spent per internally displaced person in 2011, in comparison to the other conflict zones it is the highest indicator and 5.9 times more compared to 2003, said the annual report of Azerbaijani government which was presented to Azerbaijani Parliament, APA reports. The reports noted that the poverty level among the displaced people reduced from 74% to 18% over last 8 years. AZN 399 million (AZN 235 million from the budget, AZN 140 million from the State Oil Fund, AZN 24 million from the international humanitarian organizations) was spent on the solution of social problems of the internally displaced people in 2011 and it is 3.7 times more compared to 2003. In general, USD 4.68 billion was spent on the solution of social problems of refugees and internally displaced people in 1993-2011. USD 2.7 billion was allocated from the state budget, USD 1.08 billion from the State Oil Fund and USD 900 million from the international humanitarian organizations.
