Baku â€“ APA. Representatives of the world Muslim elite from more than 40 countries gathered in Istanbul to attend the Inaugural Global Summit organized by Salamworld, an international company aiming to develop the first social media platform oriented towards the needs of the Muslim population. Salamworld Inaugural Global Summit was highlighted by more than 60 most significant international and Turkish press agencies.
Starting with the welcoming message of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Summit was also welcomed by Mahathir Mohamad, Former Prime Minister of Malaysia, and Mustafa Abdul Jalil, the Head of Libyan Transitional Council.The participants who came to show their support from various countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Russia, USA,
Chairman of Salamworld Governing Board Abdulvahid Niyazov spoke about the goals the summit. Participants of the summit highly estimated the presentation of the summit by famous TV anchor Riz Khan. It was noted that the Salamworld social network named as â€œMuslim facebook networkâ€ will be comfortable and alternative online place for the Muslim youth. Salamworld is the global and social media project for Muslims. It is also communication platform prepared for the showing of the culture and heritage of Islam in the world.

Famous singer Sami Yusif performed at the end of the summit.
