International ranking of universities made public

Baku-APA. â€œWebometricsâ€ Ranking of World’s Universities has announced its ranking list. APA reports that the power of the worldâ€™s universities, including power in electronic and virtual world, as well as recognition were taken as a basis in the list. 23000 universities, including 38 universities from Azerbaijan were studied and analyzed. The places of the universities were made public, their places were declared. Only one Azerbaijani university is placed in major league (6233rd place). The Caucasus University (7771), Baku State University (8833), Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy (8926) take the first 3 places in the second league. 18 Azerbaijani universities are there.

19 Azerbaijani universities were placed in the third league.

Only one Azerbaijani university is in the major league â€“ Khazar University, There are 5 universities from Georgia in the major league, 5 from Armenia, 6 from Moldova, 16 from Belarus, 15 from Estonia, 15 from Latvia, 20 from Lithuania, 4 from Kyrgyzstan, 20 from Kazakhstan. 288 Russian universities, 112 Turkish universities, 59 Iranian universities are among the best universities of the world. The US (1722), China (567) and Japan (388) are the countries which are represented in the major league most of all.

The ranking of the â€œWebometricsâ€ Ranking of World’s Universities has been announced since 2004. Spanish State Scientific Center carries out this ranking research. This center was established in 1907 Nobel Prize winner Ramon y Cajal.
