Every year more than 7 million people die from cancer in the world, 20 million diagnosed with this disease

The UN Department of Public Information (UNDPI) Office in Azerbaijan told APA that World Cancer Day 2012 has been themed ’Together it is possible’ because it is only by every person, organisation, government individually doing their part that the world will be able to reduce premature deaths from cancer and other NCDs by 25% by 2025.
Every year more than 7 million people die from cancer in the world. 20 million people have been diagnosed with this disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of oncological diseases will double by 2030.
UNDPI and WHO offices in Azerbaijan, “Leader Women†Public Union and “Azerbaijani Doctors and Medical Students†Public Union will organize a roundtable on the World Cancer Day. The event will be held on February 3.
