Heydar Aliyev Foundation donates â‚¬40,000 to Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg

Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubayli â€“ APA. Heydar Aliyev Foundation donated funds to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg, APAâ€™s Europe bureau reports. A special ceremony was held in the cathedral on this occasion. Head of public affairs department of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, member of Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Ganira Pashayeva presented â‚¬40,000 cheque to the episcope of the cathedral Christian Kratz.

Christian Kratz, Mayor of Strasbourg Roland Ries, prefect of Alsace Pierre Etienne Bish and others appreciated the donation and expressed their gratitude to President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. They underlined that Azerbaijan had made great contributions to the intercultural and interreligious dialogue and said the Foundation was participating in the restoration of the Park of Versailles.

Ganira Pashayeva and head of Azerbaijani permanent representation to the Council of Europe Arif Mammadov underlined that the donation would serve the development of the relations between the two countries.

Azerbaijani delegation attending the PACE session, representative of Azerbaijanâ€™s office in UNESCO, member of the European Court Khanlar Hajiyev, representatives of Azerbaijani Diaspora in Strasbourg and Strasbourg public also attended the event.

It was noted that two big windows of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg would be repaired at the cost of the foundationâ€™s donation.
