Committee chairman: Azerbaijani government has spent $2 billion on the solution of the problems of refugees and displaced persons within the past 16 years

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. Azerbaijani government has spent $2 billion on the solution of the problems of refugees and displaced persons within the past 16 years. International organizations spent $753 million on the solution of the problems of Azerbaijani refugees and displaced persons during this period. $200 million of these funds came from UN, $360 from US-based nongovernmental organizations, the rest from Europe, Arab states, Turkey, Iran, said Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, APA reports. He said that Italy and Greece were distinguished for their direct assistance to Azerbaijani government with respect to the refugees and IDPs.

Hasanov said the first resources received by State Oil Fund were spent on the solution of the problems of refugees and IDPs. State Oil Fund has spent $720 million on the solution of social problems of refugees and IDPs. 61 settlements, 17,000 flats (1 million sq m) were built at these expenses. 80,000 refugees and IDPs moved to these flats. The committee chairman said 114 schools, hospitals, medical units and bathrooms had been built in the settlements.
