Polish-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group leader: “It needs to show the Guba mass grave to the world”

Guba – APA. Members of the Polish-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group of Polish Sejm visited Guba Region of Azerbaijan on Wednesday. The visitors became familiarized with the life style and culture of the ethnic minorities living in Guba. The Polish parliamentarians accompanied by their Azerbaijani colleagues and local authorities visited the mass grave area in Guba and was informed about the massacres committed by Armenians in 1918 in Guba. The Polish visitors said they were horrified with the signs of violence committed against the peaceful people. Head of the Polish-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group Vaslav Voda said he was shaken by what he saw there. “Poland also witnessed such tragic events and became the place of such mass graves. How savage the human must be to use such methods of torture to kill the people. It needs to save this mass grave and to show it to the world that no one can distort the history”. The Polish parliamentarians emphasized that it is important to give legal international value to the savage massacres committed by Armenians in Azerbaijan, including the Guba massacre.
Member of Azerbaijani Parliament Sayavush Novruzov said international experts would begin research in Guba mass grave in near future. Truth about the 1918 Guba tragedy will be published in the Polish newspapers, said the parliamentarians.
