Azerbaijani among those who graduated Moscow State Institute of International Relations with honors this year

Moscow. R. Metleboglu – APA. Solemn ceremony was held in Moscow State Institute of International Relations for presenting diplomas and special medals to the graduates of 2009, APA’s correspondent in Moscow reports. Azerbaijani Aida Nematova is among those who graduated the institute with honors. She is the graduate of the faculty of international journalism. She was also awarded a medal for her achievements in the education.

Making a keynote speech at the ceremony, rector of Moscow State Institute of International Relations Anatoli Torkunov congratulated the graduates on the occasion of the memorable day. He said qualifying specialists particularly from CIS countries was of great importance. Rector said diplomas will be presented to 77 students from Russia and 40 students from 16 countries.
“112 people from CIS, Central Europe and Eastern Europe graduate the institute at the expenses of Russian state this year. 500 students from CIS countries are studying at our university, this makes up 10 of those studying at the expenses of Russian state. It proves once more that CIS is a priority for us,” he said.

Chief of the Russian presidential administration Sergei Narishkin said the institute’s diplomas were the carte-de-visite for high career opportunities. “This year students from 16 countries will receive the diplomas of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. There are two presidents, 14 prime ministers and 10 ministers among the alumni of this institute. I believe that high-quality education you received here will help you to make good career”, said Narishkin.

Then Sergei Narishkin presented diplomas and medals the students were awarded for the academic successes to the best students, including Aida Nematova. Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloghlu said if the alumni successfully developed their skills and knowledge, once they could become presidents like President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who graduated from this institute. “As an ambassador of Azerbaijan, I am happy that the number of Azerbaijani students receives diplomas of this institute and Aida Nematova receives the diploma of honors and a medal for her academic successes. National leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev are the honorable doctors of this institute. I wish everybody of you to become honorable doctor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations once”.
Then Polad Bulbuloghlu presented a souvenir and flowers to Aida Nematova on behalf of the embassy. There are other Azerbaijani students – Soad Bagirova, Zaur Ibrahimov and Fuad Alizadeh – among the alumni graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations this year.
