DATA Center of Education Ministry inaugurated

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. DATA Center of Education Ministry has been inaugurated today. APA reports that Education Minister Misir Mardanov, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov, Executive Director of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov and other officials participated in the ceremony. Misir Mardanov said DATA Center established within the framework of the â€œState Program on informatization of education system in Azerbaijan Republic for 2008-2012â€ would play an important role in the informatization of the education sector. 10 schools have joined the DATA Center through IP. 200 schools of Baku, Sumgayit and Absheron will soon join the broadband internet. After the DATA Center is fully operational, all 7000 educational establishments in Azerbaijan will join this center.
â€œDATA Center will make it available to get information about the education. Big education portal will operate in the center. Managing structures of the education, students and teachers will be able to join the center,â€ he said.
The Minister said big Internet filter will be established in DATA Center, negative cases troubling the society will be immediately solved. Mardanov said special trainings will be held for teachers in DATA Center. Over 20,000 teachers have been involved in such trainings up to now. There are over 170,000 secondary school teachers in Azerbaijan.
â€œAll teachers, not only the teachers of informatics, should use information communication technologies,â€ he said
Misir Mardanov said the center will be the place where education-related information resources will be gathered. Special security cage has been installed in the center, all technical opportunities have been offered for 24-hour and reserved operation of the devices.
