Baku hosts Closing Conference of the project â€œTraining on the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) for prosecutors in Azerbaijanâ€

The Council of Europe (CoE) held a Closing Conference of the project â€œTraining on the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) for prosecutors in Azerbaijanâ€, supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the Government of Luxembourg, APA reports.
Special representative of the Council of Europe Secretary General to Azerbaijan Veronica Kotek said 700 prosecutors and judges participated in the project carried out for two years. â€œThe project was carried out throughout the country and we instructed national trainers to provide sustainability of the process. I guess those trainers will continue their activity further. I am asking the prosecutors participated in the project to use the experience they gained in their daily activityâ€. Kotek said the Council of Europe was always keeping the human rights in the focus of attention and would continue the measures in this direction.

Deputy Chief of the Republican Prosecutorâ€™s Office Human Resources Department Zakir Muslimov also emphasized the successful development of the project. He said Azerbaijani prosecutors welcomed this program. Justice Ministry official Faig Gurbanov said human rights education was important for every democratic country.
