Renal Transplantation Center to be opened in Azerbaijan soon

The newly-established renal transplantation center will be opened soon in the Republican Clinic Urologic Hospital, Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev said at the Cabinet meeting attended by the President of Azerbaijan, APA reports. Reserve Fund of the President of Azerbaijan spent 16 million AZN to establish this center. The minister said the center, which was founding the transplantation studies in Azerbaijan, would resolve the problem of renal failure.

The minister said construction and equipment of the Thalessemia Center sponsored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation were also completed. â€œThe problem of donated blood for the people suffering from the heritable blood diseases was also resolved. Earlier 90 percent of the blood bank was donated by a group of paid donors, and the most part of this bank was quickly becoming useless because there were no necessary equipments to preserve it. This problem was resolved now. The blood bank was increased. The blood-donation campaign is held throughout the country and the most part of the blood bank donated voluntarily. The security and necessary preserve conditions are under the serious controlâ€.

Ogtay Shiraliyev said perinatal centers were important for the health of children. A perinatal center was opened in Ganja last year. Seven centers expected to be opened in the country. This year perinatal centers will be opened in Baku and Lankaran.
