Azerbaijani President: â€œBuildings constructed by cutting trees will be pulled down and responsible persons will be punishedâ€

Summing up the meeting the President said there were concrete programs, implementation mechanism and financial resources for the realization of the discussed issues.

Noting the importance of family-children problems, the President said the existence and development of irreplaceable supreme values should be in the focus of attention.

President gave concrete instructions in connection with the delays in the construction of roads, water pipelines, energy and melioration facilities, as well as implementation of other infrastructural projects.

Speaking about the work done in the field of agriculture the President said Azerbaijan-made products played important role in ensuring food safety.

The head of state unlike the previous years, in 2009 the loan given to entrepreneurs was increased and reached AZN 130 million. Touching on ecological issues, the head of state said preparations were made to plant 3 million trees in Baku and Absheron peninsula.

Moreover, the President noted that he was informed about the tree cuttings during the construction of facilities in Baku and added that he had given serious instructions to heads of relevant bodies to prevent such cases: â€œIf I hear again about any tree cuttings during the construction of facilities, those buildings will be pulled down and responsible persons will be punishedâ€.

Touching upon the energy security in the country, the President stated that the interest in Azerbaijanâ€™s energy resources increased considerably. According to him, Oil and gas policy serves for the national interests and welfare of the people.

The head of state said that despite economic crisis paralyzed the economies of several neighboring countries, but it was not felt in Azerbaijan at all: â€œThe crisis showed once more that Azerbaijan lives with its own power and internal resources. Azerbaijan relies on its people, resources, economic power, power of its policy, its position in the region and its independent policy. We will always succeed in our wayâ€.
