Education Minister meets with World Bank mission visiting Azerbaijan

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva â€“ APA. Education Minister Misir Mardanov has today met with the mission of the World Bank visiting Azerbaijan, the ministryâ€™s press service told APA. Senior education specialist of the World Bank Juan Moreno said the visit was short-term but effective. Moreno said he was satisfied with the work of the Management Group of the Second Project on Education Sector Development, component and sub-component coordinators and regarded the report prepared on the statistics of the education sector in Azerbaijan as a very successful document. He also appreciated improvement in education, achievements in pre-school education, reforms carried out on assessment and information systems of the education management.
Misir Mardanov gave information about the provision of Azerbaijani educational establishments with information-communication technologies, the new body established in connection with this. The minister said all the resources in connection with education system, will be placed in this body, DATA system will be established here. The minister said by the end of the year 500 schools will be provided with broadband internet and added that the problem has been solved in 200 schools so far.
