Azerbaijani State Migration Service holds roundtable on application of single window principle

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva â€“ APA. State Migration Service held a roundtable with participation of representatives of 15 embassies and head of Baku representation of International Migration Organization, APA reports. The aim of the event was to inform the representatives of embassies and diplomatic offices, and through them the foreigners living in the country about the decree issued by President Ilham Aliyev on March 4 on the application of single window principle in the management of migration processes.

Chief of State Migration Service Arzu Rahimov said the number of foreigners was increasing year by year, necessary normative legal acts were adopted to strengthen state control over migration, a number of institutional and organizational measures were taken. He said they had been obliged to appeal to a number of bodies, as the procedures to prolong stay of foreigners in the country, get permission for temporary and permanent living and registration procedures were complicated.

Chief of State Migration Service said the decree will simplify procedures for legal living of foreigners and stateless persons in the country, giving relevant permissions to work and procedures for their registration and ensure transparency in the work of the related government bodies.

Arzu Rahimov gave detailed information to the participants about the requirements of single window principle that will be applied as from July 1.
