What does the new admission policy for undergraduate education in China involve?
According to the director of UniDestin Education Center, Nushaba Khalilova, starting from 2026, foreign students applying to Chinese universities will be required to take an exam in mathematics: “This exam is considered an official national examination of China and is mandatory for international students. Applicants have the right to take the exam either in Chinese or in English.”
Will there be other requirements in addition to the mathematics exam?
Nushaba Khalilova stated that there will be additional requirements alongside the mathematics exam: “Depending on the university’s requirements, applicants will also take an additional exam in either physics or chemistry, along with mathematics. This process is determined according to the chosen field of study. For example, physics is preferred for engineering and technical majors, while chemistry is prioritized for medicine and biotechnology programs.”
Exam format and dates
The director of UniDestin Education Center noted that the exam is held online, and based on the results, candidates receive an official certificate. The upcoming exams will be held on December 21, 2025, January 25, and March 15, 2026.
