The first reunion of graduates of the Khojaly school has been held, APA reports.
On October 25, graduates of Khojaly City Secondary School No. 1 gathered together for the first time after many years.
The meeting, organized on the initiative of Khojaly resident Sariyya Muslumgizi, who worked as a teacher at this school 36 years ago, was attended by graduates who studied at the school in the 1980s–1990s and by teachers of that period.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, the participants of the meeting first visited the Khojaly Martyrs’ Alley and honored the memory of the martyrs with a minute of silence. They also spoke about the horrors of the Khojaly genocide committed by Armenian armed groups in February 1992 and the traces that tragedy left in the memory of our people. During her speech, the event’s organizer, Sariyya Muslumgizi, stated that today the name of free Khojaly is mentioned with pride, people are returning to their native lands, and life is returning to Khojaly once again. According to her, gathering here today is a celebration of both memory and pride. At the end of the event, the graduates emphasized the importance of holding such meetings regularly and pledged to work together for the revival of free Khojaly and for the upbringing of the young generation on their native lands.
