On June 1, the VIII Meeting of Education Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Azerbaijan's Shusha, APA reports.
The Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, who delivered the opening speech, welcomed the guests and underlined the successes achieved by Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in a short period of time are admirable.
Saying that the Ministry of Science and Education is happy to contribute to these pivotal processes, Emin Amrullayev emphasized that the foundation of sustainable and healthy cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries is the youth. The minister noted that in this regard, the exchange of students of general educational institutions within the framework of OTS enables our schoolchildren to get to know common history, culture and traditions.
Emin Amrullayev stated that both within the framework of the organization and bilateral cooperative relations with OTS member states are successfully continued even today. He assessed the schools built with the support of brotherly countries in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as other works done, as another symbol of friendship and brotherhood between our countries.
At the end of his speech, the minister touched upon the goals ahead for the development of bilateral cooperation with OTS member and observer countries.
Later, other guests spoke and talked about strengthening cooperation in the field of science and education.
After the speeches, the issues on the agenda of the meeting were discussed.

The 8th meeting of the Education Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) got underway here on Saturday.
The function is graced by President of International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov, Minister of National Education of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan Kairat Osmonaliev and President of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye Erol Ozvar.
As part of the event, delegations from OTS member countries are scheduled to hold bilateral meetings.
