Azerbaijan Student League becomes European champion

The European Universities Futsal Championship was held among students in Zagreb, Croatia, on July 17-25, the Ministry of Science and Education told APA.

It was reported that Azerbaijan was represented in the mentioned games by the team of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, the winner of the 2024/2025 season of the Azerbaijan Student League.

The team defeated the strong Valencia team with a score of 7:2 in the final stage and became the winner of the European Universities Futsal Championship.

Note that Azerbaijani goalkeeper Aghaseyid Mirmayil Gasimov was chosen as the strongest goalkeeper of the championship.

Two members of our team - the player Khazar Ovsat Aghalizade and the goalkeeper Aghaseyid Mirmayil Gasimov - were included in the honorary team of the championship.

It should be noted that the team's participation in the European Championship was organized by the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Public Union, with the support of the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association, the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers, the Association of Sports Organizations of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.
