Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations has received documents of the “Rahima Khanum tomb-mosque” religious community, which will be Nardaran’s sole religious community.
The State Committee is currently reviewing the documents to check whether they correspond to the requirements of the law, the committee told APA on June 14.
Note that, following the incidents in Nardaran in late 2015, only one mosque in the suburb town—the Jumah Mosque—was permitted to remain open for worshipers as it was officially registered. The other tomb-mosques—Rahima Khanum, Gulam Ali, Kicik, and Agha—were shut down for lacking registration. Later the State Committee decided that only one community should be registered and other communities be managed through delegations to the common community.
