As of 10:00 am, over 1,000 people voluntarily joined the blood donation action in the country, Zohra Alimirzayeva, the director of the Research Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion named after B. Eyvazov, told APA.
She added that those wishing to take part in the campaign are checked by doctors, and people over 60 years old are cannot join the action.
“Various diseases were found only five people during the medical examination. They were unable to donate blood. If a person has no health problems and is not suffering from any chronic diseases or diseases of the cardiovascular system, they can join the blood donation campaign. The blood that is taken from donors is sent to the Central Blood Bank for examination,” the institute director said.
