Repair and reconstruction work in Juma mosque (Former Abubakar) in Narimanov district will be completed by the end of the year, APA reports.
Reconstruction and repair works were conducted in accordance with Absheron-Shirvan architectural style.
As one of the minarets fell into a state of complete disrepair, both the minaret in a state of disrepair and the other minaret was demolished and rebuilt to match the uniform architectural style. As well the dome was reconstructed.
Additional service places were constructed in the mosque, the yard was improved.
By the end of the year, after relevant examinations, State Committee on Work with Religious Institutions will appoint a new imam to the mosque, and the mosque will be opened for worship.
