Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. “There is normal condition for the activities of Christian religious communities in Azerbaijan in terms of legislation and religious environment,” chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Elshad Isgandarov told APA while commenting on the statement issued by “Open doors” organization that the activities of the Christian religious communities were restricted in Azerbaijan and they were not passed from state registration.

Isgandarov noted that these statements are false and biased: “In its statement, the organization claims that all the churches and religious organizations were required to be registered again so that Protestant denominations’ status is still illegal. Bu then, the Christian religious community including Orthodox, Catholic, Molokans, as well as Lutheran, "New Life," "Word of Life" Protestant religious organizations were registered again in 2010. Therefore, if the "Open Doors" opens his eyes to the facts, its name would be more appropriate.”

Press service of the State Committee told APA that the committee didn’t annulled the registration of any Christian religious community, which have registered in this organization since 2010, and the legal status of the registered Christian religious communities has maintained its validity today.
