Caucasian Muslims Board issues statement on Israelâ€™s air strikes on Syria

CMB press service told APA that the statement says:

“We, as a religious center of the regional Muslims, express our deep concern over recent military interventions carried out by Israel against the sovereignty of Syria, as well as the acts of vandalism committed by radical forces in this country against the moral values of our religion and strongly condemn such cases.

We can not help worrying about the ongoing processes contradicting the international law in Syria. So, regardless of the purpose, the bombing of a sovereign state is an armed intervention and aggression. Considering that the fate of the Syrian state should be determined by the Syrian people, we, religious figures believe that the stability in the country will be restored due to joint efforts of the statesmen and religious figures and common ground between political and social figures, government and opposition forces. We hope that properly assessing this incident, the world community will comment on this.

Interference in internal affairs of states, influence for the sake of strategic interests, use of religious ideas for political struggle and conflicts among nations are inadmissible. Military operations, interferences in sovereign states cause civil wars and make the situation in the world more unstable, temples are destroyed, centuries-old heritage is destroyed, enmity is stirred up among the followers of various religions. We condemn the interferences causing chaos and death.

Acts of vandalism against sacred graves in Syria, desecration of Islamic martyrs’ graves are considered sin in our religion. Those who commit such acts contradicting humanity will be punished by Allah. Those stirring up enmity among religions and faiths should be reproached by the believers all over the world. As religious figures, we regard the burning of the Koran, desecration of sacred graves as manifestation of extremism and terrorism.”
