Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. First International Baku Forum on “State and Religion: Strengthening tolerance in the changing world” is being held in Baku on the initiative of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) and several international organizations. APA reports that the participants of the forum visited the graves of Heydar Aliyev and Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor and also the Alley of Martyrs.
Following the demonstration of short film “Azerbaijan – spiritual traditions and tolerance”, chief of the Presidential Administration’s department Ali Hasanov read the congratulatory letter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the participants. Delivering a keynote speech, chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Elshad Isgandarov spoke about the significance of the event.
Chairman of Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, head of Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs Mehmet Gormez, advisor of the Iranian President, chairman of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mohammad-Baqer Khorramshad, Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Adel Abdullah Al-Falah, including the officials of Egypt, Dagestan and the other countries will make speeches at the event. The forum will last for three days and several panels will be held on the topic. At the end of the forum, Baku Platform will be adopted.
