Allahshukur Pashazadeh addresses 8th meeting of Eurasian Islamic Council

Baku. Parvin Abbasov – APA. The delegation of muftis – members of the Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples led by chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh is visiting Istanbul, Turkey. Caucasian Muslims Board’s press service told APA that chairman of the Board addressed the Eurasian Islamic Council’s 8th meeting on the theme “From tradition to the future: Islamic horizon of Eurasia”.

 

 

Allahshuklur Pashazadeh said that the Eurasian Islamic Council should once more demonstrate peaceful intention and idea of mutual respect at the time when thousands of innocent people are killed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Gaza. Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board said all conflicts, including Karabakh problem must be solved peacefully in line with the norms of the international law, underlined that cooperation of states, governments, public and religious organizations can play a positive role in solving the conflicts. Pashazadeh praised Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s international policy in this sphere.

According to Pashazadeh, aggressive attitude towards Muslims in the West, bombing of sacred places in Muslim countries, terrorist attacks on civilians during namaz, celebrations and funerals, targeting of Koran by servicemen, burning of our holy book, tragic consequences of the demonstration of the film insulting Islamic prophet weakened people’s hopes for humanism, justice, equality and brotherhood. He said such facts damage the dialogue among religions and nations, lead to the violation of peace, spirit of religious and national confrontation.

Sheikh-ul-Islam chaired the meeting on November 21.

The meeting will continue on November 22.
